The pool, which was formerly operated only in summer, now closes only in winter - and it did not close at all in the winter of 2016/2017. Winter visitors will want to check the schedule on the pool's official website ("website", above).

What a fun pool! It's the only city-managed, outdoor pool in San Francisco. Be prepared for its unusual length (30 yards). I swim around noon at this pool on weekdays. I've always shared a lane but swimmers are friendly and respectful. A pass for 10 swims is available.

This is a pleasant, enclosed outdoor pool. The water was a very good temperature for lap swimming in cool weather, clear and clean except for some fallen leaves. Early on a Friday evening, the pool was moderately busy but not crowded. The two inner lanes are posted as fast, and the two outer lanes as slow. Kickboards and pull buoys are available poolside. Changing/locker/shower areas are adequate, nothing gross. EXACT CHANGE IS REQUIRED FOR ENTRANCE! No change is given.
