Two swimmers start building a directory by hand
Before there was a map, an app, a searchable database or an internet, Bill Haverland and his late partner, Tom Saunders, started collecting information about places where traveling lap swimmers could find places to swim when away from home. The work was carried out by mail and telephone and resulted in “Swimmers’ Guide: A Directory of Pools for Lap Swimmers.”
