The Gundadal Swimming Pool and the Faroe Islands
The Faroe Islands are an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, north of Scotland and between Norway and Iceland. Tórshavn is the capital, on the island of Streymoy. The city has a population of about 14,000, the island about 26,000 and the whole territory about 53,000. The islands lie only about 4 degrees south of the Arctic Circle.
We have listed this pool for more than twenty years, and we have always been impressed that a small city on a small island in such a place has a pool at all.
What the complex offers
The complex now has a 50-meter pool, a 25-meter pool and a separate diving pool with three diving boards and a 5-meter platform. For a town of 14,000 people, that is a substantial set of facilities.
The Gundadal Swimming Pool was one of Places2Swim's Pools of the Month for November 2024. Check its listing above for current rates and schedule before you go.
