The Athletic & Swim Club at Equitable Center

This is a great facility in the heart of Midtown. They offer lap lane reservation with two swimmers per lane.

The club is very clean with all amenities you'd want at the pool, in the locker room, and in the cardio/strength areas. The day pass was $30, but the front desk said they're willing to provide a multi-day pass more economically. Great midtown pool! Not crowded at 9 AM. The front desk sold me a day pass without fuss. I think that I mentioned TripAdvisor or Yelp and got a major discount (down to $10 or $15). Huge and well-kept locker room. Showed up with my own suit, goggles and cap and they provided the rest.

Great facility. Clean pool. I went at 9 AM on a weekday and had a lane all to myself.

The pool facilities are always clean and organized. It is NOT lap swim but shared lanes with 30 minute limits if there are people waiting (which is enforced). While peak morning hours see a lot of swimmers, I have never had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes. At the middle of the day it's absolutely empty. I have heard from others who have tried different pools in the city that this is the cleanest in terms of water quality.

Seriously uncrowded at 1 P.M.!

It is a nice clean, convenient club, with a tasty breakfast and lunch spot right in the club.
