This is one of the larger pools in Iceland. For lap swimmers, it's best to avoid times between 4 and 8 PM, Monday through Friday, as the indoor and outdoor pools are both dominated by swim clubs and/or water exercise groups. There are two lanes signed for fast and slow swimmers, but the signs are generally ignored. Circle swimming etiquette is universally followed, but locals seldom, if ever, group according to speed, so be prepared to shift lanes often to maintain a normal or fast pace without interruption. While the outdoor 50 m pool has 10 lanes, only 8 lanes are roped off; the indoor 25 m pool has all 6 lanes roped.
There are many hot pools for relaxing afterwards and nice view of the surrounding mountains.
