An excellent facility with plenty of free parking and easily accessible from the Bordeaux ring road (Rocade) exit 17 or 16. Indoors there are segregated male and female changing areas –personal effects are left in a small basket in a supervised area and you are given a wristband in exchange. Obligatory shower and foot bath. Swimming equipment such as fins, kickboards, tow buoys and paddles are available for free loan against your wristband. Pace lanes are in operation and swimmers observe clockwise / anticlockwise swim patterns, though there are no boards advising which direction to swim in, so watch before you get in! There’s a clock at the shallow (north) end with 15 second markers but none at the other end. The pool is not open early in the morning or late in the evening but it’s an excellent facility in my opinion. No baggy shorts are allowed (drag shorts unknown); briefs or jammers only. Swim caps are not obligatory.
