South End Fitness Center

This is a great pool. The times I swam, there was only one other person there, in a 6-lane pool.

The locker room isn't the best. The lockers are old with many broken or rusted. But the showers are OK.

One of the city's best kept secrets, this is probably the best pool in Boston. Lanes are almost always available and, outside of a few hours for a few evenings per week (it's used by two swim teams in the evenings, and hosts a swim school [which only uses only two or three lanes, leaving the rest free] on Friday afternoons), it is open swim almost all the time. I have been swimming here for almost 20 years and cannot recommend it enough.

I love this place. It's never full and in four years I have yet to share a lane.

It's the best pool in Boston for Lap swimming.

Best lap pool in the city. The facility itself is clean, the pool is very clean, lanes (lane markers are in place) are wide enough to share but you hardly ever have to share or circle swim.
