Bathing caps required; a vending machine with caps and goggles is available.

Close-fitting, brief (Speedo®) style swimming suits are required for men; boxer-style trunks or shorts are not permitted. [This is the custom throughout France and other French-speaking countries.]

There are now combination lockers that work similarly to hotel combination safes. Read the instructions on them and you will be fine. The locker room is common male and female, with individual cabins for dressing as in many European locations.

The roof closes in cool weather. The air temperature is about one or two degrees cooler than the water. Previous comments about lane use and crowding were accurate for our weekday late morning and Sunday visits. Check the pool website for hours. They vary by day.

The pool has the lovely quality of being open air over the water and covered over the edges. It was clean and impressively not crowded, despite being Bastille Day and 90ºF (32ºC).

Potentially the best pool for lap swimming in the Aix-en-Provence system, IF you hit it when it’s not crowded (rare, but it does happen). Four lanes are reserved for the public, the rest for classes. When there are classes, the public side gets crowded. There is no speed segregation, making lap swimming very difficult.
