Beautiful to look at (designed by famed Hearst Castle architect Julia Morgan) but terrible for serious swimming. The marble pool walls and flooring are attractive, but make flip turns impossible. If it's like it was when I was there, you won't want to do many flip turns, however, - the water temperature was cresting near 90ºF (32ºC) on a recent spring morning.
