Essex Recreation Complex

Although it was a bit difficult to find (I walked into the High School next door at first), the desk staff were very nice, and the pool is lovely. It’s only four lanes, the water’s a little warm, and the hours are very limited. (See the .pdf schedule and look for "Lengths”.) The day I swam (a Thursday in May), the pool was open for only one hour (noon to 1 PM).

For a serious lengths swimmer, the water is tolerable but warm. During summer the months, the water temperature rises to levels unsuitable to properly train in (~32ºC/90ºF).
