Facility Notes
The pool has a mostly unstriped shallow side (¾f - 4f deep) and a deep side (4f - 8f deep); two of the pool's 11 lanes are on the shallow side. During the free admission season, only the deep, competition striped section of the pool is open.
Pool hours vary by season and the free admission period may vary from year to year, see the pool's official website ("Website", above) for the most up to date information.
The "Friends of Deep Eddy" also has a website HERE with some fascinating history of this, Texas' oldest artificial, outdoor swimming pool.

I love swimming at Deep Eddie. The water is cool, clear, non-chlorinated, spring water. The hours are reasonable (check the website) and one can go by the day or buy a multi-use punch card. This is my top choice for lap swimming.

This is the oldest man-made pool in Texas. Somewhat weird (like Austin), the pool has green water, angled-in walls, and the formerly in-style 33.33-yard (100-foot) length. The water is cool but refreshing on summer days. I have seen people wearing wetsuits but you don't need one. You can usually have a lane to yourself or split one with someone else. It's probably the only place you can set a PR in the 100 FOOT freestyle! There are no lockers and the dressing room has no roof. An experience you will remember.

I just LOVE to swim there. It's got cold, real spring water with no chlorine, a huge lap swimming area, and is just perfect on hot days.
