Castle Swimming Pool

The facilities are old and poorly maintained. The changing rooms are invariably filthy with trash on top of lockers and under benches sitting around for weeks. There are eight male showers: to my knowledge, four of those have never worked; of the remaining four, only one works now. Urinals overflow onto the floor between the showers and changing room. The pool water temperature differs from day to day from very cold to a warm bath. Pool staff don’t police the lanes, so fast and medium lanes are a free-for-all.

The facility also has a learner pool. I recommend phoning first as, like other pools, some evening sessions are block booked for lessons or club use. Pleasant, would visit again.The changing rooms look like they have been completely refurbished within last five years.
