Britannia Leisure Centre

Rating: 9 on a scale of 10. This is an Immaculate center with pristine pools. Large windows run alongside the pool, which is in a high-ceiling, airy setting.

The lap lanes are tight for passing. They had the main pool set up with four swimming lanes and a large area of water (two lanes together), when I swam. It was steady swimming with one or two people per lane. The lockers are in a unisex changing village and are now free, using an electronic numeric password pad.

It's a lovely swimming center with something for everyone.

There are at least three pools here. It's clean with big windows, speed-designated lanes, and a non-gendered “changing village”. There's also a sauna, steam room, and hand-held hair dryers. Lockers require a £1 coin, which is returned. There is also a large indoor lounge area and free Wi-Fi.
