Aquaniene - The Sport Club

This is a good indoor pool with teams training all the time, it's very good swimming. The changing room and showers are great, bring your own lock.

The bar and restaurant upstairs are an utter joy; it's definitely worth staying for lunch at the facility.

This facility is wonderful. I swam in the outdoor, 50-meter,10-lane, heated pool on three different occasions in June and July 2024. There are always teams or lessons taking place, with three lanes open for lap swimmers like me. There are plenty of umbrellas and lounge chairs on the deck for after-swim relaxing.

The ladies locker room has open and private showers. Only small locks work in the lockers, a Master lock with a large hasp will not fit. There is a cafe on the 2nd floor with many food options.

It's very easy to get here by train or bus, just use Google Maps. The train stop is across the street from the facility. The pool is situated in the luxe and stunning neighborhood of Parioli. The one-hour walk back into Rome is incredible, especially if cutting through Villa Borghese.

This is a fantastic facility. There are many youth teams that train here as well as Masters teams. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Most spoke English, which is good as my Italian is not great. The lifeguard even explained that there were some Masters workouts on one of the boards and put me in a lane with another Masters swimmer. All in all, it was a great experience. They are open until 10 PM. When I'm back in a few days I'm hoping there won't be any lightning and I'll be able to swim in the outdoor pool. It looked terrific!
