May 2019: Poland Inventory Adds 116 New Pool Listings
In May 2019 we finished reviewing Bavaria, Berlin, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories, then began working through a Polish government inventory of pools that had already added 116 listings.
A Polish government inventory of pools gave us 116 new listings in May 2019. This pool listings update also covers our reviews in Germany and northern Canada.
Listing reviews
We finished reviewing the listings in the German states of Bavaria and Berlin, then completed Canada's Yukon and Northwest Territories. We also made a good start on British Columbia.
A Polish inventory of pools
A reader in Poland sent us a PDF copy of a report titled Plywalnie Kryte W Polsce Inwentaryzacja Bazy Sportowej, or in English, "Swimming Pools in Poland: An Inventory of the Sport's Base." The Polish Ministry of Sports and Tourism prepared it in April 2015. It lists every swimming pool in the country, with street addresses and reasonably good guidance on the size of each pool.
We began searching each address on an online map to see what we could find, and we found a great deal. So far we have worked through 32 of the report's 69 pages, covering 6 of Poland's 16 provinces, and have picked up 116 new listings.
We don't know how many more listings the report will yield, but we plan to check every remaining entry. We expect that to take about 15 to 20 days. Then we will either finish British Columbia or start on New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts.
