January 2026: Colorado Finished, Kansas and Missouri Reviewed
In January 2026 we completed Colorado, reviewed Kansas and began Missouri, adding 61 listings and deleting 18 for a net gain of 43. We also began planning new pages for the next version of the site.
This January 2026 pool listings update reports that we completed the review of Colorado, worked through Kansas and began Missouri. We added 61 listings and deleted 18, a net gain of 43.
Listing checks
In January we finished reviewing the listings in Colorado. We had expected to move on to Nebraska, but we had already reviewed it in 2023, when we worked through the northern half of the United States. So we turned to Kansas and its 66 listings, and then to Missouri, where we have been through 31 of the state's 118 listings. We hope to finish Missouri in February.
Plans for February
We expect to spend some of February writing new pages for a new version of the site, including How to Use, the FAQ, About Us and other sections. There are probably several months of work to do before the new version comes online.
Database statistics
- January 2026 changes: we added 61 new listings and deleted 18, for a net gain of 43.
- As of January 31, 2026: the Places2Swim database includes 26,757 facilities in 211 countries and 14,753 cities and towns.
- Pools: those facilities have 29,536 full-size, year-round pools, as we define those terms in our FAQ.
- Websites: 25,361 listings (94.8% of all listings) have links to their own official websites, or to non-official sites that we think may be helpful to you.
