February 2023: Indiana Reviewed, Croatia's Euro and Cali Pools
In February 2023 we completed Indiana, checked Croatia after its switch to the euro, and added 16 pools in Cali, Colombia. We also began an effort to improve our Istanbul listings with help from a local swimmer.
We completed our review of Indiana in February 2023, rechecked Croatia and added 16 new pool listings in Colombia. A swimmer's message about Istanbul, described in this update, set up more work for March.
Site activity
In February we continued reviewing the listings in Italy and completed Indiana. We also checked a few in Japan, where prices and website links proved surprisingly stable after about ten years without a review. We began on Nova Scotia as well, and we have reviewed about half of its listings.
A site user told us that Croatia had replaced the kuna with the euro as its official currency on January 1. That change could not wait, so Croatia received a review out of sequence.
We also found a website for pools in Cali, Colombia, which let us add 16 new listings in that country.
Listings in Turkey
At the end of the month a Turkish swimmer wrote to recommend changes to the listing for the pool where he swims in Istanbul. Our 115 Turkish listings are mostly basic. Most lack prices and water temperatures, and many link only to non-official websites.
We used the opportunity to ask him about swimming in Turkey, and he explained how visitors can get into some of the pools in Istanbul. So far we have updated only one Istanbul listing. We plan to spend a few days following the link he sent to find more pools there and to update the Istanbul listings we already have.
What comes next
Our next work will be Kentucky, the next U.S. state on our schedule, along with continued reviews of Nova Scotia and Italy and the Istanbul work described above.
