February 2022: New Jersey Under Review and French Overseas Pools
In February 2022 we began reviewing New Jersey and added new listings in France's overseas territories, for a net gain of 47 listings. This update also gives the database statistics as of February 28, 2022.
Our update for February 2022 starts in New Jersey, where we began reviewing pool listings, and ends in France's overseas territories, where new pools joined the directory.
Site activity
The latest COVID-19 variant wave appeared to have passed, and in the second half of February we started surveying our listings in New Jersey. With only one exception so far, every pool we expected to reopen is open and answering telephone and email inquiries. We have been through 98 of the 171 listings in the state and plan to go on to Pennsylvania next.
While we worked through New Jersey, our data partner in France sent us a list of 450 facility website links that had stopped working, along with an updated list of the pools in France and its overseas territories. We used it to add a good number of new listings in Reunion Island, the French West Indies, French Guiana and New Caledonia. We are now alternating between reviewing the New Jersey listings and fixing the broken French links.
Database statistics
- February 2022 changes: we added 67 new listings and deleted 20, for a net gain of 47.
- As of February 28, 2022: the database lists 25,850 facilities in 209 countries and 14,348 cities and towns.
- Pools: those facilities have 28,330 full-size, year-round pools, as we define those terms in our FAQ.
