December 2019: Germany Reviews and a 215-Meter Resort Pool
In December 2019 we decided against a large batch of Turkish listings and resumed our German reviews. The Pool of the Month is a Vietnam resort pool about 215 meters long, and we report our 2019 totals.
In December 2019 we decided against adding a large batch of Turkish listings and went back to our German reviews. This pool listings update also features a very long resort pool in Vietnam and gives our totals for the year.
Listing reviews
Our November report raised the possibility of adding many listings in Turkey, based on a website with a great deal of information about pools there. We started going through that site early in December but decided it would not give us enough helpful listings to justify the time. Working in Turkish proved difficult, and we have found very few pools in Turkey of interest to our target audience: swimmers who travel.
Instead, we resumed our review of the listings in Germany. We had hoped to finish North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, but we cleared only 297 of the 387 listings in North Rhine-Westphalia and none in Rhineland-Palatinate.
When we finish the remaining 90 listings in North Rhine-Westphalia, we plan to move on to England and check a county or two there. Then we will do the listings in Rhineland-Palatinate.
Pool of the Month
An interesting entry came in through our Add a Pool form in December: the Sheraton Grand Danang Resort in Danang, Vietnam. Its swimmable length is about 215 meters (706 feet), which appears to make it the second longest pool in the directory. See why it stands out.
