August 2020: Sweden, Estonia and Latvia Listings Reviewed
In August 2020 we finished reviewing every listing in Sweden, Estonia and Latvia, adding 137 listings across the three countries, and began on Lithuania. We also postponed our New York and New Jersey reviews.
We finished every listing in Sweden, Estonia and Latvia in August 2020, and completed Ethiopia and Bermuda as well. This pool listings update has the figures and our plans.
Listing reviews
In the course of these reviews we added listings as follows:
- Sweden: 77 listings added, bringing the total to 305, a 34% increase.
- Estonia: 29 listings added, bringing the total to 56, a 107% increase.
- Latvia: 31 listings added, bringing the total to 42, a 282% increase.
We had planned to start on New York and New Jersey after Sweden, but we decided to give those states more time. Both were hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, and we understand their pools and health clubs may now be allowed to reopen. We would rather wait than ask them for updated information before they are ready.
Moving forward
We have just begun work on the listings in Lithuania, which had only 24 when we started. We expect another dramatic increase, as in Sweden, Estonia and Latvia. Starting from 24, doubling or even tripling the number won't take many days.
After Lithuania we will either go to New York and New Jersey or start on Italy, whose 1,127 listings have not been looked at for a long time. Either choice begins a long series of reviews.
Database statistics
- As of August 31, 2020: 25,205 swimming facilities in 206 countries and 13,881 cities and towns.
- Pools: those facilities have 27,472 full-size, year-round pools, as we define those terms in our FAQ.
