April 2019: Germany Second-Round Review and Maine Rechecked
In April 2019 we reviewed all of Baden-Württemberg and about half of Bavaria in Germany, and completed a third-round check of Maine and the Australian Capital Territory.
Two review projects ran side by side in April 2019: the second-round review of Germany and a third-round check of Maine and the Australian Capital Territory. This pool listings update also gives the database statistics as of April 30, 2019.
Listing reviews
We are working through a second-round review of the listings in Germany. In April we reviewed every listing in Baden-Württemberg and about half of those in Bavaria.
The number of listings in Germany did not change this month, but that hides some of the work. We have been removing listings for facilities that are unsuitable for lap swimming and probably should not have been included in the first place.
Most of our users are in English-speaking countries, and a full review of listings worldwide takes a long time. So alongside the second round of reviews in non-English-speaking countries, we have begun a third-round review of the major English-speaking countries. The aim is to keep stale data to a minimum in the parts of the database that people use most. In April we completed that third-round review for Maine and the Australian Capital Territory.
What comes next
After Bavaria, we plan to move on to Canada, taking on one or two provinces, before heading to New Hampshire and Vermont.
