Why the Mercy Health West Clermont HealthPlex stands out
The pool is 25 yards long, a good setup but nothing unusual in itself. What is special is the arrangement. The health center sits on the high school campus, and its members have access to the school's swimming pool in the early morning and in the evening.
The HealthPlex offers memberships, and it also sells day passes. Its listing shows the current price.
Why we chose a school pool
In our June 2023 update we noted that many school pools in the United States are never open to the public, or are open for so few hours that nobody could build a swimming routine around them. The HealthPlex shows another approach: the arrangement gives local residents regular access to a pool that is otherwise closed to them.
