How the 21c Museum Hotel kept a YMCA pool
We listed the YMCA until it closed a few years ago. The hotel that now occupies the building has kept the pool operational and available. The 21c Museum Hotels combine a hotel with a contemporary art museum, and here the building is also still a place to swim.
The pool also fits a pattern we noticed in April 2024. Of the 39 pools we added that month, 13, or one-third, were in hotels. Our goal when we started the database in 1992 was to find pools for traveling swimmers, so we were glad to see so many hotel pools among the new listings.
