Why the Aura Sky Pool stands out
The pool encircles the top floor of the building that houses the St. Regis Hotel. Our measurements from Google Maps put it at about 140 meters long and approximately 3 meters wide.
The pool operates independently from the hotel. Staying at the St. Regis does not give you automatic access to the 50th floor: like other visitors, hotel guests buy a ticket for the pool. When we checked on the morning of April 1, 2022, reservations were required and the first opening available was in mid-May, so plan well ahead.
The Palm and the setting
The tower stands on The Palm, the set of artificial islands in the shape of a palm tree that extends into the Persian Gulf. When we looked at the pool's website, which our listing links to, we were struck by the scale of The Palm. From the base of the palm tree's trunk to the outermost edge of the island that encircles it is 4.75 kilometers, or 2.95 miles.
The Aura Sky Pool was Places2Swim's Pool of the Month for March 2022. Check its listing above, and the pool's own website, for current rates, schedule and booking details before you go.
