Facility Notes
Ordinarily a summer only pool, it appears that De Vrije Slag opened to the public in the winter of 2020/21, during the COVID-19 pandemic. When we added the listing to the Places2Swim website in January, 2022, the pool was closed due to the COVID restrictions in effect at that time. We do not know whether it will continue to operate in winter, after the COVID pandemic abates, or revert to a summer-only operation.
The facility has an official website that requires an annoying "Capcha" process to access. If you'd like to visit its site, click on https://zwembaddevrijeslag.nl/ and be prepared to go through the Capcha test process. It's not a trap set to divert you to a rogue website but it appears that the site operators are working on a "belt and suspenders" effort to prevent the site from being hacked. Our experience is that you have only to prove yourself once, in subsequent visits the test will be bypassed.
