Facility Notes

The entrance for the pools is on High Street, not Forest Avenue. (the YMCA residence entry). There's no good way to go through the building from one side to the other, so go to High St. to avoid a three block walk.

Bring your own towel or pay $3.00 to use one of the Y's. [November, 2025]

This is a nice pool. We swam around 8:30 AM and each had our own lane - there was plenty of space. It was a seven-minute Uber ride from the Portland Cruise Terminal but we walked back to the cruise terminal taking about 25 minutes and was very easy.

There are two pools - the 25- yard Malcolm Pool is for laps and the water temperature is cool, about 81º - 82º. It was uncrowded at 7:00 AM on a Saturday; the staff and swimmers were friendly. It's an older pool but well maintained. There's a pool table and saunas in the men's locker room!
