This is a well-maintained pool, with windows and light from either end, but still a little dark mid-pool at midday. The pool floor slopes down towards one end and also towards one wall, which changes the whole sense of swimming laps.
Every lap swim has to be booked the day before. This is done with bookings that can be either for split lanes, with two swimmers, or circle swimming, with three. Session reservations are either for half an hour or an hour. They clean and lock the pool between 2 and 3 PM. So, organizing a swim can be tricky. There are few indoor pools in the New York Hudson Valley region so the demand is quite high. Busy times are early morning, lunchtime, and late afternoon.
For YMCA members from Greater New York, the first swim is complimentary, then $5.00 a swim. Caps are not required. Bring your own lock.
The men's locker room is adequate. The women's, not so much.
