These are the nicest pools I've ever been to. I haven't lived in Raleigh for several years but swam at State for 20+ years. It can be a bit crowded first thing in the morning and shortly after dinner hours. But late in the evening was usually quiet enough. I paid close attention to the lane schedule and tried to swim around team practices and water polo (which were both busy on weekday evenings in the 50m pool). On weekend afternoons, they can be a bit crowded with families and swim lessons. Even during busy times, I never waited more than 20 minute or so for space in a lane. I miss swimming there very much!
