At 86ºF, the water was a bit warm for a vigorous workout, but the beautiful painted fish, dolphins, and turtles adorning the walls made swimming here a joy. The pool has a decent selection of pull buoys and kickboards.
The Y has family locker rooms and more upscale locker rooms with sauna and Jacuzzi for those 23+. I swapped my Y membership card at the check-in desk for a card that I swiped to access the 23+ area.
This YMCA is in a neat building in the heart of Wilkes-Barre. My membership from a Y in a different part of the country allowed me free admission. A kind staff member was very helpful and even gave me a tour of the facility and locker room.
