Door # 9 allows entry directly to the pool deck, where the locker rooms can be found. Guards, the sole Park District staff, will likely be coaching or teaching the hour before Adult Lap. Nod at them, and proceed to the bright locker rooms. Locker rooms are clean with low shower heads. The night I swam, each of the five swimmers had his own lane. They count on it, I’m told. Lane ropes and backstroke flags hang in this cheery pool. Importantly, know that the building closes when Adult Lap finishes. Plan to hop out early, if you’d like a post-swim shower.
