The Fulham Pools and Virgin Active Health Club

I wanted to swim here during my stay in London, but their website offers no swim timetable, and my attempts to contact them by phone all failed ("cannot be connected") and there is no other way to get in touch with them. I suppose I could have shlepped there in person in hopes that they'd let me in and I could swim, but I chose not to take that risk.

This is an excellent facility. Both pools are set up for lap swimming. The Virgin Active private club side has a sauna and steam room plus gym facilities. I swam on the public at about 11.30 AM every day. Four lanes were set aside for laps only and the lanes were speed designated. The facility is unassuming and well run. The water was clean and great. There were few people swimming when I was there, but at other times - ? Lots. School groups, organised training, and learn to swim sessions, have heavy use, especially after 4 PM. The magic words: "Senior Discount" plummet the price by more than 50%. The locker room is a mixed village style.

This is a great place to swim in southwest London.

I swam laps here twice in late July, 2022. I thought it was fantastic! I went around 10/11 AM, always had a lane to myself, the staff was very nice and gracious, the price was very, very reasonable. Yes, the water was a little warm, but I was so happy to find a pool, and it was clean. They don't supply kickboards so bring your own if you can. So glad I found this pool!

The club at Virgin Atlantic arranged a SwimFit event with some Team GB swimmers, so I tagged along. The public pool, at 28ºC, is a warm for lap swimming; otherwise it's alright and the lane width is OK.

In Pool 2, for use by Virgin Active club members only, the water is cooler and more suitable for lap swimming - about 27ºC. It's not too busy but the blue tiled pool bottom is a bit dark.

The best public pool I've found in London in a decade. It was clean and the water temperature was fine.

The water in the public pool is ridiculously warm. I went on a Saturday morning and had a lane to myself for some time. People seemed OK about a faster swimmer passing them.

The six-lane pool is cooler and not-chlorinated; it's hard to fault it. The eight-lane, public pool is nice, but far too hot. Otherwise, it's a great facility.

There's no lane swimming during school term weekdays 9 AM to 6:30 PM or Saturdays 8 AM to 1 PM.
