Facility Notes
The pool was closed in April, 2019, based on engineering reports having to do with earthquake readiness. In that year, a decision was made to rebuild the pool on a site adjacent to the old pool. In 2021, financing of the project was secured. And, in 2022, construction commenced. The rebuilding was completed and the new, NZ$ 68,000,000 pool opened to the public in December, 2024.
