Strand Indoor Swimming Pool

This pool used to offer hot showers but, due to ongoing municipal water restrictions, this has been stopped. The pool is right on the beachfront, so sometimes in summer the strong prevailing southeast winds whip up beach sand and drive families and kids into the indoor pool, when you might not expect it (mainly on weekends) and it can get crowded.

I love this pool. Hot (but slow) showers. I leave my bag at the end of the lane - the lockers are old, you need a key, and they're usually all taken. Quiet weekdays during the day.

Not a fantastically maintained pool, but the water is always clean and warm. The chlorine can be a bit strong at times. There are usually 4/5 dedicated swimming lanes with the others for paddlers. It's nice that it's 50m so you can get some strokes in.
