Birmingham seems to not understand the need for backstroke flags or lane ropes! Surprisingly, of the three pools I tried there, this was probably the best. A very old pool, but light and airy and it felt clean. No lane ropes whatsoever, but it was very, very quiet, so I could just swim up and down beside the wall and get my session done. The water was a good temperature and the staff all very friendly and helpful.
