Lane swim consists of four double-width lanes for circle swimming. There are no wave suppression rings on the lane lines, they're just ropes, so the pool has lots of turbulence. Most swimmers do not obey the "slow", "moderate", "fast" speeds, so you might find yourself in with someone who is much, much slower. Some of the lanes are marked "anti clockwise" and some are marked "clockwise", so it's different from one lane to the next.
