The fitness centre is immaculate and built to a high standard. The unstriped 20m pool is of constant depth with a water temperature of 30ºC; it is split into three lanes that are signposted fast, medium, and slow. The first two lanes occupy one half of the pool and the third the other half. The fast and medium lanes are of a comfortable width. Lane dividers rather than wave suppression barriers are used. Pool toys are permitted and some are also provided.
The main users are retired folk and the pace and style are best described as leisurely; I have often had a lane to myself. The pool is not busy except when aqua-fitness classes are in progress and swimming is not possible. Children are not permitted. The fitness centre also has a sauna, gym and various exercise classes.
