Paracelsus Bad and Kurhaus

This is a beautiful pool and facilities! There were two people per lane midweek at midday (a Wednesday in early June from noon to 1 PM). Note there are no flags for backstroke, and the beautiful wavy ceiling is difficult to orient yourself with.

I paid €8 for a 2.5-hour ticket. There's no need to bring a lock – the admission fee includes a digital key on a wristband for the lockers - but do bring soap or shower gel.

I did the Sauna option, which includes a swim, on a Sunday morning. There were no lanes set up at this time. It was open for free play. Although some people were doing laps, they weren't keeping to any pattern. I only did 1,000 metres, before deciding the sauna would be better. Warning - there are two sauna areas, one is mixed nude, the other ladies only. (The pool is with togs.)

There are lanes and lap swimming is encouraged. It's also cheap, pristine, has great showers, and the water's a perfect temperature. There's not much to complain about apart from the hours.

A very nice facility. They rent towels - get the large ones. When I was there, two lanes were always taken by a team or lessons but there were lap swimmers in the open pool, several doing freestyle. No lane lines, so watch where you are going. Several swimmers created a virtual, oval lane. I liked the place.
