All the Gwinnett County pools are well maintained by excellent staff. As Aquatic Centers, they cater to the swimmers, unlike other pools where swimmers are afterthoughts in the overall scheme of a fitness venue.
Because Mountain Park has the largest outdoor leisure pool of all the Gwinnett County Pools, its VERY crowded in the summer during outdoor pool hours (weekdays noon to-6 PM and all weekends). Although the staff tries to keep the indoor pool for lap swimmers only, at times they are at capacity and the staff cannot effectively keep tabs on all the leisure swimmers. It's best to swim in the morning or during the final evening hour (8 to 9 PM). Or, consider another Gwinnett County pool with a smaller outdoor leisure pool, such as the
West Gwinnett Park and Aquatic Center. During the crazy summer, when I need to swim on the weekend, I go to West Gwinnett on Sunday afternoon, during the last hour (5 to 6 PM) and am able to get a lap lane.
Also, you can call the pool for more detailed information – the staff is always helpful!
