Mossman Pool and Caravan Park

Mossman Pool has undergone huge changes for the best in the past year. It is still quiet, you can often have the pool to yourself outside of peak times. The surrounding grounds and facilities have been refurbished. The pool is spotless, the staff is friendly, and there are lifeguards on duty all the time. The lanes are marked and lane ropes are up all the time for most of the pool (occasionally two lanes at the end are not roped off due to kids aqua playground being used). It also now sells a small range of gear such as goggles, kick boards, etc. It's much better than before due to council upgrade.

This is a great pool overall - oftentimes you can find you have the whole pool to yourself. When the sugar cane mill is running, the pool can fill with ash and soot. They only have shade cloth over half the length of the pool, so you need to come early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid sunburn.

Rating: 7 out of 10. No lane lines, basic change rooms, but a fabulous setting! On two separate occasions around the New Year, I was the only one in the pool. Think about it: No one else. Warm water. Warm breeze. The tropics. What more can you ask?
