Montanoso Recreation Center

The water is very clean. The locker room has a club-like atmosphere with foamy pineapple (?) -scented soap in the showers. Because of its size, the pool is more like the neighbor's backyard pool: four lanes are available for lap swimming and the other two are combined as a recreation swimming area. One end of this pool is 3½ feet deep, meaning anyone with a strong dolphin kick or deep push-off will hit or scrape bottom. The staff is friendly and professional.

The entrance fee is an all-day pass for the entire facility, so keep your receipt for easy in/out privileges. Amazingly, the "sister" location is the Sierra Recreation Center about two miles away; the same pass works for both facilities, meaning you could use both locations on the same day for that one-time price

It felt like a nice 79º - 80ºF (26º - 27ºC) the last two days I swam here.

This is a very nice pool: well marked, a good temperature, good water quality, and very quiet when I swam around 9 AM in the height of the summer school vacation period. The price is quite high, as it is for all day use for all the facilities, but well worth it.

It's a wonderful pool and setting. The water was a bit warm for my 5 km. swim session - maybe 83º - 84º F. (28º - 29ºC.) - but it's a nice facility with a friendly staff in a nice setting.

This 25 yard pool has been renovated since my last visit and the complex now includes a sophisticated gym and an outdoor spa. The entry fee includes all facilities. The water was clean, warm (about 28º - 29ºC [82º - 84ºF] at a guess), and there are lane ropes on half the pool. The pool is pretty quiet, not many lap swimmers, and well patrolled, so that the kids stay out of the lap lane. Overall a very pleasant swim.
