The pool is in a spacious, well-lit facility, and it was a joy to swim with the morning sunlight streaming in through the skylights. The YMCA itself is very large, bustling with activity even before 6 AM. The spacious women's locker room has a small sauna and both private and open showers, and the Jacuzzi adjacent to the instructional pool has powerful jets. A kids' water-play area separates the instructional and competition pools. The Masters workouts are challenging with friendly and welcoming coaches. (The current schedule can be viewed by clicking the "Pool Schedule" button on the Y's home page HERE.) On Tuesdays/Thursdays two workouts are offered, for both freestyle and IM swimming.

A beautiful pool and great place to do laps. I'd say the temperature feels more like 80ºF. (27ºC.) It's a clean pool and women's locker room. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely join the Y to swim here all the time. I try to swim here whenever I visit San Diego. Conveniently located right off the 5 Freeway.

I swim at this pool three times a week when I travel to California. It's a terrific pool. They always have five lanes for non-Masters swimmers. The other eight or 10 lanes are reserved for Masters from 6 AM on in the morning. Perfect for laps.
