Long Bridge Aquatics and Fitness Center

This is a lovely indoor 50m pool! It's clean and the staff is nice. At 10 AM on a Friday, it wasn't particularly crowded and I had a lane to myself most of the time. The water was clean and there was nice lighting. I love the water-level hand-grabs, which not all pools have, especially those with movable bulkheads. They are consistent and clear about their "pool change" schedule, so you can get your 50m laps in, if you plan for it.

The outside looks very new and fancy; the locker room is a little bit tired, but there are private showers and lockers where you can use your own lock.

Flexible Course Configurations: During most weekdays, the main pool is set up for long course (50-meter) swimming, which is a rare treat for endurance training. On Friday afternoons, the staff adjust the movable bulkheads to transition the pool into short course, doubling the number of active lanes.

Lane Availability: While you should expect to circle swim or share a lane during long course setups due to high demand, the Friday afternoon short course transition opens up enough real estate that you can often score a private lane to yourself.

Dual-Pool Setup: In addition to the dedicated competition pool, the facility features a separate Leisure Pool with zero-depth entry and splash elements, keeping family fun and serious lap swimming completely distinct.

Facility & Staff: The entire complex is clean, well-organized, and bright. The front desk team and lifeguards are welcoming, efficient, and keep transitions between pool setups running smoothly.

Whether you are looking to log serious training yards or just want a refreshing, high-quality swim near the nation's capital, Long Bridge easily stands out as one of the best aquatic facilities in the region.

I swam here on a Tuesday evening in March. The pool was not crowded, and the swimmers’ pace was faster than most public pools. Although the facility was generally clean, there were a couple hair balls floating around. Lockers were available but everyone brought their bags on deck.

The pool was set up for 50-meter lengths. The temperature was 80º and felt 79º, and was not crowded at all – I circled with three people. Everything was clean. It was a perfect swim. The $7 admission was worth it to get a great swim in DC.

The only negative was nose running after the swim. I'm not sure what they use for sanitization, but this does not happen at my local pool. I'll swim there again and bring Sinex next time.

Unfortunately, you need a car to get there. I was staying in DC and took a $7 Uber.

This is my home pool, where I swim three to four times a week. The facility and staff are amazing. I really can't say enough good things about the front desk and guard staffers - they are all incredibly nice and care a good deal about providing a good service. I feel lucky every time I swim here.

This is a great facility and post pandemic improving more and more. They accept and act on patron feedback.

This facility is stunning. It’s high up on the list of places I’ve had the pleasure of swimming at. If you’re in town you should definitely check it out. $11.25 for a non resident, plus a 2.5% fee, if you pay with a card.

Stunning, fantastic new facility ... an architectural and aquatic gem worthy of our nation's capitol.
