Life Time - North Scottsdale

As of Sept 1, 2015, the 6 lane outdoor pool is open from sunrise to sunset. Since sunrise / sunset times vary according to time of year the 5 to 7 AM and PM time blocks are affected. Swim Team / Masters / Triathlon groups use the indoor 25m pool at these times, so lap swimming is extremely limited to unavailable during these time blocks.

This facility offers a five-lane indoor lap pool and a six-lane outdoor lap pool. BE SURE to check on lap lane availability during the time you plan to swim. The pools' scheduling seems to be inconsistent. The water temperature can be challenging, too. The outdoor pool is generally too warm for brisk lap swimming from April through September due to its shallow depth and lack of an aeration system. The indoor pool is cooler but the lanes are narrow and it gets crowded.

The lanes are narrow. The facility is very family-oriented, so expect a lot of chaos in the pool area. And the indoor pool can get crowded during the winter, when the outdoor pool isn't heated. There are much better and cheaper pools in the area but this is the only one that's indoors.
