There's a beautiful view over Galway Bay as you swim.

Unisex change rooms were unique to me – seemed to make sense. If you miss the scheduled lap session you have to do 15m widths – not much fun it you are trying to swim 1 - 2 km. The child in me enjoyed the waterslide

The facility is clean and bright, but a bit overheated and highly chlorinated. A Tuesday AM swim was full but not too crowded, with good manners shown all around. Access from the center of Galway on the public bus to Salthill.
