Most of the pool is roped off most of the time (even in summer) for private swimming classes. Consequently, there are usually only about three lanes available. The crowding makes it difficult with small children. After swimming, you are told notto use soap or shampoo to wash off the strong smell of chlorine (showers have only a half curtain). The changing room floors are always flooded with water. Staff seemed to enforce regulations more strictly and more noisily for non-Japanese users.
