K. Mark Takai Veterans Memorial Aquatics Center

A beautiful pool and facility, with giant aquatic murals decorating the entryway and tall palm and pine trees surrounding the grounds. I was there one morning between 7 and 9:30, and a bulkhead divided the pool into 25-yard and 25-meter sections. The lifeguards are friendly . Bring a padlock if you want to store items in a locker.

This is just a perfect pool - not crowded and free! The hours are pretty limited – call ahead.

An absolute gem. Opened in 2007, it's a TRUE competition facility. As good, maybe better than UH-Manoa's pool. Normally 10 lanes SCY and 10 lanes SCM. LAP SWIMMING ONLY, and never really crowded. The locker room is spacious clean. Showers could have been a bit warmer.

An exceptional facility; free, friendly staff, good hours - but often closed for competition – call ahead.
