Hutton Moor Leisure Centre

This is a nice, clean pool. The dressing room was clean but showing signs of wear-and-tear. The Sunday noon combined general swim and lane swim had three marked lanes using half the pool and general swim in other half. I had a lane to myself for forty minutes. It started picking up just as I was leaving, but still there were only two or three swimmers per lane (plus a couple of people doing lengths in open half of pool). Parents and small children have a separate, shallow kids’ pool so they don’t interfere with lap swimmers at all.

The temperature fluctuates too much! One week it's freezing; the next it's too hot to swim! There are not enough adult lane or public swim sessions. Wednesday night is the only good time to go. Other nights have aqua aerobics, swimming lessons andwater polo. I don't recommend going here!

There’s plenty of time and space for workouts in the morning. Temperature fluctuations only follow swimming galas, when they drop the temperature. It has good staff, I’d love it to open daily at 06:30.
