The pool is generally pretty crowded. In the mornings there are people going back and forth but not in straight lines or in any organised way. The restof the day there are people going every which way, hanging on the rope, etc. It does not look possible to do laps. The Sheraton is a far better choice, except for the temperature which is bearable because it is chilly outside, it's really very good.
