Hamdan Bin Mohammed Sports Complex

I confirm the earlier reviews. This pool is fantastic; it's a uniform three meters deep, with very clean water kept at the right temperature for proper exercise. The facilities are stunning. They include a fitness room and other sports facilities. You can even pay the lifeguard by credit card. Monthly membership is also available.

Still very clean and high quality, though going there requires dedication, as it is, indeed, about a half hour from the downtown area - without traffic. When I went, the warm-up pool was available with 25m lanes (27º C), plus two lanes were set up in the diving pool. It's much better than the standard hotel pool that's often only good for sunning and floating around.

This is a fantastic facility at an impressively low price of entry. The competition pool is often covered or unavailable because of events. That is fine, however, because the warm-up pool is excellent, as well. 50 meters long-course with flags, clocks and the perfect temperature for a hard swim. The pool is literally in the middle of nowhere with no public transportation available. The only option is to drive yourself or take an Uber or taxi. The entrance is in the back of the building, not very well marked, but easy to find. Change, go into the pool, and pay the lifeguard.
