Finkenwerder is located directly on the River Elbe. Big ships glide by just outside the perimeter fence of the outdoor pool. It's really worth the effort to get there; take a HVV ferry from Landungsbrücken or Museumshafen (line 62) to Finkenwerder. During the winter don't bother - the indoor pool is small and crowded.
